Gunnar Nilsson
Non-Executive Chairman
Gunnar Nilsson was appointed as non Executive Chairman in June 2018. Gunnar was previously a Director of Northern Aspect Resources Limited, which was acquired by Rupert Resources in May 2018. Prior to this he held senior roles at Johnson & Johnson and Svenska Cellulosa/Mölnlycke before retiring to act as a private investor. Gunnar has over 30 years’ experience of developing and operating businesses in Europe and through joint venture companies outside Europe.
James Withall
Chief Executive Officer
James Withall joined Rupert Resources in April 2017 and has over twenty years’ experience in mining. He was previously a Managing Partner and Fund Manager at Baker Steel Capital Managers. He was the lead manager of the award winning Baker Steel Global Funds Precious Metals Fund that was voted the top performing Gold and Precious Metals Equities Fund by Thomson Reuter Lipper Fund Awards, over 3 years in 2016 and, 3 and 5 years in 2017, throughout Europe. James was also awarded two gold medals by Sauren Fund Research in 2016 for excellent fund management in the category “Equity Goldmines”. James worked for more than seven years as a geologist, working in Western Australia for number of gold mining companies in exploration, project and mine geologist roles, before joining the development team of the Xstrata Windimurra vanadium project. James has a degree in Applied Geology from Leicester University and a Masters in Mineral Project Appraisal from Imperial College, London.
Susan Milton
Non-Executive Director
Susan has two decades of experience as an investor and investment advisor with a focus on the mining sector. She began her career at Moss Lawson & Co before continuing at Richardson Greenshields & Sons, RBC Dominion Securities, Ocean Equities and Macquarie Private Wealth. Susan holds an MBA with a specialization in Financial Management & Markets from Arizona State University and was appointed as Director of Rupert Resources in June 2016. She sits on the Audit Committee of the Corporation.
George Ogilvie
Non-Executive Director
George Ogilvie is a mining industry executive with more than 30 years of management, operating, and technical experience in the mining industry. Previously, Mr. Ogilvie was the CEO of Kirkland Lake Gold Inc and latterly CEO of Battle North Gold until its acquisition by Evolution Mining in May 2021. Mr Ogilvie is a registered Professional Engineer in Ontario, Canada. Mr. Ogilvie received his B.Sc. (Hons.) in Mining and Petroleum Engineering from Strathclyde University in Glasgow, Scotland, holds his Mine Managers Certificate (South Africa) and is a registered Professional Engineer in Ontario, Canada.
Michael Ouellette
Non-Executive Director
Michael Ouellette currently serves as Chief Executive Officer for a US-based family office and has over two decades of executive leadership in the family office industry. Throughout most of his career, he has worked with closely-held companies, private and public investments, and on board governance including several appointments as a Director or an advisor for private and non-profit organizations. He has a degree in Business Management from the University of Maine and also holds a Masters Degree in Public Policy with a specialization in Financial Management from the Muskie School of Public Policy at USM. Mr. Ouellette will chair the Audit Committee of the Corporation.
Michael Sutton
Non-Executive Director
Mr. Michael W. Sutton, P. Geo., is a geologist who has worked in some of the most prolific producing Canadian gold camps, including Timmins Ontario and Kirkland Lake Ontario, working in various senior-level positions directing gold exploration programs. Mr. Sutton was awarded Prospector of the Year for Ontario by the Ontario Prospectors Association and credited with the discovery of the South Mine Complex while he was Chief Geologist and Assistant Manager at Kirkland Lake Gold Inc. (TSX). Most recently, he guided Vault Minerals as Vice President of Exploration to a takeover by Queenston Mining Inc. (TSX).
Jeffrey Karoly
Chief Financial Officer
Jeffrey Karoly is a Chartered Accountant with a degree in Geology from the University of Bristol. He has worked in the mining sector for over 20 years including 11 years in corporate finance roles with Anglo American on three continents. Since 2008 he has been Chief Financial Officer of several listed junior resource companies including South American Ferro Metals, listed on the ASX in 2010, AIM & TSX-listed Horizonte Minerals (2010 to 2016) and Altus Strategies, listed on AIM in 2017.
Jukka Nieminen
Managing Director of Rupert Finland
Jukka was instrumental in the acquisition of the Pahtavaara Project for the Company andis a geologist with over 20 years of experience in the mining industry. He started his career with Outokumpu at the Forrestania Nickel mines in Western Australia before returning to Finland to work as a mine geologist at the Pahtavaara and the Orivesi Gold mines. Latterly he was General Manager of Belvedere Mining’s Hitura nickel mine and CEO of the Belvedere’s Finnish operating subsidiary.
Thomas Credland
Head of Corporate Development
Thomas is a geologist with over 15 year’s experience in mining. Thomas began his career in the gold mining industry in Western Australia before returning to the United Kingdom to work as a mining analyst. He then worked in an institutional equity sales role at Canaccord before moving into a senior corporate position at a London listed mining company. Thomas holds a degree in Geology from the University of Edinburgh and a Masters in Mineral Project Appraisal from Imperial College, London.
Dr Charlotte Seabrook
Group Exploration Manager
Charlie has over 15 year’s experience in geology and exploration having completed her PhD at the University of Witwatersrand and is a Registered Professional Geoscientist (RPGeo) through the Australian Institute of Geoscientists. She holds an MSc Mineral Resources (Cum laude) from the University of Wales (Cardiff) and is based in Finland. Prior to joining Rupert, Charlie was District Geologist for Newcrest in West Africa and has worked on gold and copper projects in central Africa and Australia.
